I sit outside on my doormat while its raining outside, with raindrops pelting down making the floor my mirror. i see street lights in the mirrored reflection of my floor, patterning glistening lighting up my world in the darkness that surrounds me.
You know how people hate the dark. Associate it with all things evil devilish sorts. I on the other hand love the darkness. Love sitting on the stairs surrounded by raindrops humming this symphony of sorts, gurgling away in harmony, tip tapping and creating this beautiful piece of music called life.
Have you ever noticed how when god showers us with these tiny little things called droplets, we hide. We duck under a roof, an umbrella.
Have you ever noticed how when god showers us with these tiny little things called droplets, we hide. We duck under a roof, an umbrella.
But have u observed how kids respond to this lovely shower of love?
They run.
They stomp in every puddle. They get wet. They don’t worry about whether their hair is getting messy or their clothes are tissue-like-wet. They seem so free. Free to do what they want. Not hesitate. Not think twice. They live.
They live in the now without a worry of the future. Their faces light up with such pure joy. happiness in their naughty innocent smiles. Not a care of what anyone around them is doing.
And in that one moment standing in the rain everything seems move in slow motion. I seem to be surrounded by nothing but droplets of clear transparent water. All around me. I get this sense of belonging. Sense of being one with whatever is happening right now. And not rushing to tomorrows worries.
You know what I'm talking about right?
The feeling of belonging. The feeling of letting go. The feeling of just standing in that moment with your eyes shut and letting the world go by. Without a care in the world.
And if you don’t know that feeling. Well then, the next time it rains, stand. Stand right in the middle of the road, shut ur eyes and let urself go. Let the rain surround you with its beautiful symphony of such a thing called life.
